Management Team

J. Patrick Barley

Partner and Chief Executive Officer

Patrick led the founding of LONESTAR Midstream in February of 2005 and he has brought together a new management team to form LONESTAR Midstream Partners II, LP with a focus to develop and acquire natural gas midstream assets in East Texas and North Louisiana. Prior to this entity, Patrick led the founding of LONESTAR Midstream Partners, LP, where he developed and implemented the corporate strategy, assembled the management team that successfully executed the business plan, and led the process that successfully monetized the assets of the partnership in July of 2008. Patrick brings over nine years of experience managing early-stage investments and prior to the founding of LONESTAR, he formed his own private investment firm CB Capital, LLC, which served as the General Partner of LONESTAR Midstream, L.P. Prior to forming CB Capital, LLC, he was a partner at Greenfield Capital Management, LLC. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Methodist University.


Jeffrey W. Allen, Ph.D.

Partner and Chief Financial Officer

Jeff joined LONESTAR Midstream in January of 2007 and played a key role in successfully positioning the Partnership to execute LONESTAR’s business plan. Jeff led the restructuring of LONESTAR to become a private MLP and worked extensively with the CEO to navigate the sales process and successfully negotiate the purchase sale agreement for the partnership’s assets. Prior to LONESTAR, Jeff was the Director of Energy Programs at SMU’s Cox School of Business in Dallas, Texas, where he was a tenured finance professor. Jeff has taught Mergers and Acquisitions and Financial Analysis courses for the past several years at the full-time and Executive MBA level, and he has consulted with organizations in the energy sector including Pioneer Petroleum, Marathon Oil, and Saudi Aramco. Jeff earned his Doctorate in Finance and Econometrics from Purdue University.


Craig F. Strehl

Partner and Chief Operating Officer

Craig joined LONESTAR Midstream in October of 2007 as an Independent Director serving on the Board of Directors for LONESTAR Midstream Partners, LP, and he will join the management team as COO for LONESTAR Midstream Partners II, LP. Prior to his affiliation with LONESTAR, Craig was the President of the Bass Family’s Sid Richardson Carbon & Energy Company. After growing the pipeline segment EBITDA from $15mm to $150mm, he managed the sale of the pipeline assets to Southern Union Co. (SUG) for $1.6 Billion. After a brief time as President of SUG’s midstream assets, he retired in January of 2007. Craig began his energy career in 1980 as a pipeline engineer with TXO. After managing various engineering and commercial responsibilities for TXO, he joined Aquila Energy in 1987. As Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Aquila, he completed the purchase of Clajon Gas Company in 1990, which was subsequently renamed Aquila Gas Pipeline (AQP) in 1993. AQP was listed by Fortune as one of the fastest growing companies in 1994 & 1995, and was ultimately acquired by Energy Transfer. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M Univeristy.
